Adolfo Rivera has over 13 years of experience in the Health and Wellness field. He received his MA in Health Education and Promotion from East Carolina University and received his BS in Exercise Science with a concentration in Physical Therapy from Manhattan College. Additionally, he holds the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, and USA Weightlifting certifications.
Adolfo has over a decade of experience working as a Strength & Conditioning Coach and Health & Wellness Coach. His career has included working with both geriatric and youth populations, as well as working with professional, Olympic, and elite-level athletes at the Division 1 and Professional levels at places like the University of Florida and the University of North Carolina. Throughout these positions, he was responsible for needs assessments, strategic planning, program development, direct training and much more. He tailored programs to meet the complex and specific needs of a wide variety of individuals.
Prior to joining PLC, Adolfo also spent nearly three years abroad working with a range of non-governmental humanitarian groups focusing on a variety of public health issues including HIV/AIDS prevention, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, health education, sex education, women’s empowerment, gender-based violence prevention, cultural preservation, refugee health, mental health, child safety, and more.
Adolfo has dedicated his personal and professional life to improving the health and wellbeing of both individuals and wider communities. From helping elderly gain confidence to walk independently down the halls of their retirement home to preparing D1 athletes for professional tryouts, Adolfo takes pride in his thorough understanding of health, fitness, and wellbeing, and his ability to adapt and apply it for any individual’s needs or circumstances.
