Executive Exam FAQ

An Executive Physical Exam is simply a much more in-depth and comprehensive preventive medicine exam than you would typically receive at your primary care physician.  You can expect to spend much more time with the Executive Exam physician. Your Executive Exam will also include numerous diagnostic and screening tests aimed at looking not only for  the earliest signs of disease that may not yet be symptomatic but also taking a deeper look at your risk for developing future health problems.  Then your team of prevention experts can work with you on a detailed plan for staying well in the years to come.

No. The term Executive Physical or Executive Exam may have originated as an exam that was both a perk for top executives and a necessity for companies trying to ensure that their key people remained healthy and productive. Today, the term is used more generally to refer to a much more extensive physical exam and approach to optimum disease prevention. In fact, more than 70% of our patients come in as individuals rather than through their company. Our exams are open to anyone who wants to take a more proactive approach to staying well.

You should plan on being with us for about 7 hours. Your day starts with drawing blood for laboratory tests and undergoing the CT Heart Scan to check your arteries for plaque.  If you have opted for any of our Elective Scan Options, such as  Full Body Scan, Virtual Colonoscopy or other scans, those are done at the same time.  During the rest of the morning you will undergo a Treadmill Stress Test, Electrocardiogram, Pulmonary Function Tests, DEXA bone densitometry and body composition analysis, Audiometry and Vision Screening plus any other Elective Options you may have selected.  You will also meet with your Princeton Longevity Center Physician for 45-60 minutes in the morning to review your medical history and have an in-depth physical exam. Your exam will include a detailed consultation with a Registered Dietitian and an Exercise Physiologist to create your individualized nutrition and fitness plans based on your exam’s test results.  Then you will meet again with your Princeton Longevity Center Physician to review all of your test results and get detailed recommendations for addressing any issues that were found.  Finally, all of your results and consultation reports are put together and ready for you to take home with you the same day. Throughout your day you will have easy access to computers to check your email in our patient lounge. And we provide you with a delicious catered lunch buffet. Our goal is to ensure that your day runs smoothly and efficiently and that all your needs are taken care of by our 5-star team of Patient Care Concierges.
