There’s always time in the day to learn a new way to cook an old favorite! Brussels sprouts are easy to cook, delicious and oh-so-healthy for you. But just because these veggies are naturally bitter doesn’t mean you can’t bring out their sweet side. Roasting them alone can help cut down on their bitterness, but add a little maple syrup and nuts to the mix and you’ve got yourself a whole new twist on roasted veggies! Check out the recipe below:
Balsamic-Maple Glaze Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients
- 4 pounds brussels sprouts
- 4 tablespoons maple syrup
- 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ½ cup chopped dates
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- kosher salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Trim brussels sprouts and cut in half
- Toss sprouts with olive oil, balsamic, garlic, spices
- Roast 20-30 minutes or until tender
