Updated COVID-19 Policy

As leading experts in Preventive Medicine, Princeton Longevity Center is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all our patients and staff. It is likely that COVID-19 will continue to be a concern in the coming months and we understand that you may be concerned about potential exposure from visiting public places. However, with proper precautions it is possible to keep those risks minimized. We want you to know the steps we are taking to help ensure that our facilities are as safe as possible.

We have implemented new screening and infection control policies and procedures at all our office locations including Princeton, NJ, Shelton, CT and Fairfax, VA.

Princeton Longevity Center has taken the following steps to safeguard your health while visiting our offices:

  1. All Princeton Longevity Center Staff members have received a COVID-19 Vaccination

  2. Rapid Antigen Testing – Each patient will have a COVID-19 rapid antigen test done upon arrival at our center. This will help to ensure that we keep our facilities COVID-free. Anyone testing positive will be asked to leave and reschedule their exam.

  3. Private Patient Waiting Rooms – Each patient will be provided with a private waiting room. Patients who co-reside may share a waiting room. Each waiting room will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to patient use. The Private Patient Waiting Rooms will avoid direct personal contact between patients in the facility.

  4. Daily Temperature Taking of all Employees and Patients – One of the first signs of COVID-19 infection may be an elevated temperature. Temperatures are taken and recorded by our Front Desk immediately upon arrival of all staff and patients. Patients or staff with an elevated temperature will be rescheduled or asked to leave. Patients or staff members must be symptom-free and without fever for 72 hours before returning and must not have developed any other symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

  5. COVID-19 Patient Screening form – Upon arrival, all patients will complete a written questionnaire regarding recent symptoms and exposure they may have had to COVID-19.

    • Patients with known exposure should be in voluntary quarantine and their appointments will be rescheduled for at least 2 weeks into the future.

    • Patients with acute symptoms of respiratory illness will be rescheduled for at least 2 weeks in the future or until they can provide physician documentation that they have tested negative for COVID-19.

  6. Social Distancing– Whenever possible, patients and staff are expected to maintain a minimum of six (6) feet of distance.  (For some procedures, such as drawing blood, physical exam, etc., this may not be possible.  In those situations, staff and patients will utilize personal protective equipment as needed to minimize any risk of contagion.)

  7. Hand Sanitizer – Hand Sanitizer stations will be at all entrances and exits to PLC offices as well as in each locker room. Each patient will be provided with a small, personal bottle of hand sanitizer to use as needed throughout their day at PLC.

  8. Sanitizing Patient Rooms, Common Areas, and Offices – All surfaces in patient rooms and offices where patients are seen will be wiped down with sanitizing wipes by a gloved staff member immediately following patient interaction. All common areas, including door handles, faucets, refrigerator handles, seating, remotes, keyboards, tables, chairs, will be cleaned with sanitizing wipes twice daily by a gloved staff member at 11:00AM and 4:00PM. Magazines will be removed from waiting areas until further notice.

  9. Mask Policy – Patients and staff will use appropriate face masks during any interactions to minimize the potential for contagion.

  10. Gloves – All patient contact requires use of disposable gloves. This includes, but is not limited to, physical exam, stress test, hearing, vision, glaucoma screening, spirometry, blood draw, etc.

  11. Hand Shaking – Although it is a tenant of our Service Values to kindly greet patients and make them feel welcomed with a handshake, Handshaking is prohibited in the office to help avoid person-to-person transmission.

  12. No Tie/Lab Coat Policy – Ties are not generally washable and Lab Coats are often not washed daily. These items can be potential means of transmitting viruses and bacteria from person to person. Staff will no longer wear a tie or lab coat.

  13. Staff Exposure– Any staff member with exposure to another person with known COVID-19 will remain at home and quarantine for a minimum of 2 weeks.

  14. Discontinuation of Isolation For Staff with Confirmed COVID-19 – Staff members who are diagnosed with COVID-19 will be quarantined at home and may not return to work until they meet the following minimum criteria:

  • It has been at least fourteen days since the initial positive test for COVID-19

  • Resolution of fever without the use of antipyretic medication

  • Improvement in the signs and symptoms of the illness.

  • Negative results for a molecular assay for COVID-19 from two consecutive sets of nasopharyngeal (NP) and oropharyngeal (OP) swabs at least 24 hours apart or a minimum of 7 days after the resolution of all symptoms.

Your health is our top priority. We believe that with proper screening and attention to sanitizing our facilities throughout the day, you can feel protected at Princeton Longevity Center.
