A Simple, Healthy, and Quick Recipe!

Check out this 5-ingredient… < 30 minute… lightened up Bolognese made by our NYC RD, Paige! The perfect, balanced comfort meal when you’re pressed for time.

Here’s all you need:

– 1 pound of lean ground turkey (I used 99/1%)
– Mirepoix (diced celery, carrots and onions)
– Hearts of palm pasta/Palmini (this is optional!)
– 2 cups Marinara sauce of choice (I used the brand: Carbone)
– Fresh, chopped parsley

1: Spray pan with olive oil and let it heat up for 1-2 minutes over low-medium heat. Add mirepoix and sauté until your veggies are nice and soft!
2: Add hearts of palm pasta/Palmini for extra veggies and volume
3: Once all of your veggies are cooked, set them aside in a large bowl.
4: Spray your pan again with olive oil and add lean ground turkey. Cook your turkey meat through.
5: Add cooked veggies back to your pan and mix with the ground turkey.
6: Add ~2 cups of marinara sauce. Mix veggies, turkey and sauce together well.
7: Add fresh chopped parsley.

This recipe makes ~4 servings. Nutrition facts will differ based on the meat, sauce and ingredients you choose! Based off the ingredients I used, this recipe per serving comes to: ~217 calories, 9g carbs, 9g fat, 26g protein. To make this a more complete, balanced meal I recommend adding a carbohydrate (preferably, a pasta of your choice). I will be adding a serving of Trader Joes’ Cacio e Pepe ravioli, which comes to 220 calories, 25g carbs, 9g fat and 8g protein per serving (1 cup). You can also choose to add grated parmesan on top for a finishing touch as well!
