Your exam starts with a thorough review of your medical history, a complete physical exam, cardiac stress test, pulmonary function tests, coronary artery CT scan, Full Body CT Scan, bone densitometry, individualized fitness assessment and prescription, nutrition consultation and more.
The DEXA scan is the gold-standard for measuring body composition and visceral fat. By precisely measuring muscle and lean body mass, as well as percent body fat, we can individually tailor your fitness and nutritional program as well as identify risk factors for future illness.
Your Resting Metabolic Rate is a measure of how many calories you burn each day maintaining basic body functions. It represents the number of calories you would have to take in each day in order to stay at a constant weight. You can increase the number of calories you burn in a day by increasing your activity level. But, you can generally not decrease your calorie usage below your resting metabolic rate.
Knowing your Resting Metabolic Rate allows you to precisely determine how many calories per day you should eat and how much exercise is required to meet your weight loss goals.
Standard blood tests only measure vitamin levels but don't tell you if that level is optimal for function in your body. You may be deficient in some vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and/or other essential micronutrients even with normal blood levels. Because each of us is metabolically and biochemically unique, the micronutrient requirements for one person may be quite different than the requirements for another.
SpectraCell Laboratories' specialized tests measures how micronutrients are actually functioning within your blood cells. These tests allow a nutritional assessment for a broad variety of clinical conditions including arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular risk, diabetes, various immunological disorders, metabolic disorders and micronutrient deficiencies.
The Alcat Test may help uncover which foods and other substances trigger chronic inflammation, metabolic and gastrointestinal disorders. Medical studies using the Alcat Test to guide diet have shown significant improvement of many common symptoms.
The ALCAT results can help create a personalized nutrition plan based on your immune response with food choices that are better for your health and well-being.
Research suggests that your genetics interacts with your diet and may determine metabolic traits such as body weight and nutritional deficiencies. Your diet should be tailored to your individual genetic traits. The Genomic Healthy Weight panel tests a variety of genetic markers that have been found to influence your response to diet, exercise and obesity-related health conditions. Studies have shown that genetically tailored diet plans can help you have better success at losing weight.
